Who am I?

I am a Product Designer with experience in industrial and UX/UI design combining creative problem-solving with technical precision. With experience in product development, rapid prototyping, user interface design, and web development, I’ve had significant roles in projects ranging from multi-million-pound engineering solutions to NHS clinical system interfaces.

Healthcare Experience

Website Development

@ NHS
I was contracted to create an Intranet Hub for news, file sharing and events for a network of 3 GP practices using sharepoint. I was responsible for carrying over and updating existing branding, whilst creating a site with a modern feel. This site provided a single place where clinicians and management can track tasks, events, news, and documents.

Data Dashboards

@ NHS
I was responsible for the design and intergration of data dashboards for Upperthorpe Medical Centre. I worked closely with the practice manager and clinicians to understand their needs and pain points. Working inside the constraints of the clinical software (SystmOne), I created a functional brand language and interactive dashboards to present patient and practice data. These streamlined key tasks such as patient triage, repeat appointments, chronic condition monitoring. These were very well received by other GP Practices and are now integral to how Steel City surgery run both clinical and administrative tasks.

StageScape Product

Monitoring Audio Levels

Combatting hearing loss in musicians
I created a product to provide musicians with on-stage monitoring of sound levels to improve their performance and reduce their chance of hearing loss.
From extensive user research, questionnaires and interviews with the top researchers in this field to extensive prototyping, UI design, and design for manufacture; every detail was meticulously considered. Bringing together the latest technologies to solve real world problems, the resulting design delivers a compelling solution which addresses an important challenge for performing musicians.

UI

A key component of this system was creating an easy to use software interface to could show the user sound levels at a glance. A professional sound engineer said this regarding Stagescape: “StageScape has the potential to help sound engineers understand the changing levels on-stage, and reduce the likelihood of hearing loss in musicians.”

Design Engineering

Talyrond® Redesign

@ Taylor Hobson LTD, Ametek®
The Talyrond®, the world’s first roundness metrology device, remains the industry leader for precision and speed.
I led the ergonomic and aesthetic redesign of the product line—from brief to production-ready solution. My focus was on modernising the design language, improving standing ergonomics by raising the unit height, and streamlining the interface by grouping controls by priority. I ran weekly review sessions with engineering, marketing, and business development leads to ensure alignment and integrate feedback. Collaboration with Creaform’s Canadian engineering team supported development and manufacturing readiness.

Surface Measurement Device

During my year working professionally as a Design Engineer I was tasked with creating a new aesthetic design for a range of handheld metrology devices. Working with the business development team I put together a range a concepts, with accompanying prototypes, based on consumer feedback, competitor analysis and internal research. I took the project from a loose specification through to well considered, carbon fibre 3D printed model. The original design language of the product range was updated to a two-tone grey with the display as the focal point. Content Creation

Video Production

@ Direct Computers
A high-impact promotional video showcasing a custom- built gaming PC. I handled filming, editing, and audio synchronisation, using music-driven transitions and dynamic pacing to highlight the machine’s performance and design. The final video was used across digital platforms to boost product visibility and brand engagement.

Skills

A collection of my skills, everything from UX design to Microsoft 365 Automation

Initiative

I often take the lead on improving design workflows—for example, introducing Figma-based processes at Taylor Hobson to improve collaboration between design, engineering, and marketing teams.

Adaptability

I'm comfortable shifting between UX, UI, and physical product design, and adjusting my workflow to suit agile teams, regulated environments, or lean start-up conditions.

Technical Fluency

I’m confident using a range of tools, from Figma and Adobe CC to SolidWorks and prototyping platforms, and I pick up new systems and processes quickly when the project demands it.

Project Management

I often take the lead on managing design projects from concept through to delivery—planning timelines, tracking progress, and coordinating input across departments to keep things on track.

Teamwork

I regularly collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, clinicians, and stakeholders, to align design work with user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.

Communication

I'm confident presenting ideas, running feedback sessions, and translating complex technical or user requirements into clear, actionable visuals or prototypes for a range of audiences.

Documentation

I maintain structured design files, handover documents, and internal resources using tools like Product data management systems (PDM), Figma, and SharePoint to ensure clarity and consistency across teams.

Problem Solving

I approach problems with a practical mindset—whether that’s streamlining an interface for clinicians or adapting a design to meet manufacturing constraints without compromising usability.

Attention to Detail

I pay close attention to the finer points of both visual and functional design, ensuring accuracy in layouts, consistency in styling, and clarity in data presentation.

Organisation

I manage multiple projects in parallel, keeping priorities aligned and design tasks clearly scoped—even in fast-paced or unstructured environments.

User Focus

I prioritise user input at every stage—whether through hands-on research, direct feedback, or working sessions—and translate insights into functional, inclusive designs.

Creative Thinking

I'm able to generate clear, well-formed ideas quickly, especially during early concept phases, and I enjoy turning abstract briefs into workable, real-world solutions.
